ZeroNic ("the app", "we") is a smoking-cessation companion app. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes. The short version: your data lives on your phone, and we designed it that way on purpose.
Nothing is collected on our servers by default. ZeroNic has no user accounts. Everything you enter — your name, smoking profile, journal entries, reflections, urge history, quit date, course progress — is stored locally on your device and never uploaded by us.
Some features involve third parties. Each is listed below.
When you use the "Talk it through" AI feature, the text of that conversation (and minimal context such as your stated urge trigger and cigarettes-per-day figure) is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a reply. We do not store these conversations on any server of ours. Google's handling of API data is described in Google's own privacy documentation. Do not include information in AI conversations that you would not want processed by a third party.
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple App Store / Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. We receive anonymized purchase status (an app user ID and entitlement state), never your payment details.
If the app crashes, a technical crash report (device model, OS version, stack trace) may be sent to Sentry so we can fix the bug. Crash reports are configured to exclude personally identifiable information. No journal content, smoking data, or conversations are included.
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content or schedule is sent to any server.
You can export all your data at any time (Settings → Export my data) and restore it from that file. Deleting the app deletes all locally stored data. There is no server-side copy to request deletion of.
ZeroNic is an educational and motivational companion. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. If you have health concerns about smoking or quitting, consult a healthcare professional.
The app is not directed at children under 16. Do not use the app if local law requires a higher age for consenting to data processing without a guardian.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app.
